About the event
The Apache Software Foundation and several Chicago Meetup Groups such as Chicago Hadoop User Group (CHUG), Chicago Kafka Enthusiast (CAKE), Chicago Java User Group (CJUG), Chicago Women in Big Data (CWiBD), and many many more, are partnering to host a two day Apache Road Show for approximately 200 attendees, focusing on Apache projects at work in AdTech, FinTech, Ecommerce, and more in the Chicago area, as well as a special focus on increasing diversity and encouraging involvement in smaller projects throughout the Apache Ecosystem.
Diverse points of view and input are important in all communities, and ASF projects are no different. Chicago is the perfect backdrop for having conversations around diversity in tech, a city with an exploding tech startup scene where 30% of startups boast a woman founder/co-founder.
The Venue(s) for this roadshow will be a series of restaurants and bars in Chicago’s hip and upcoming Logan Square neighborhood, which by train is 23 minutes from the hotels at O’Hare Airport (Rosemont Stop), 14 minutes from downtown.
