Less than two weeks after planning the human protected bike lane held in Chicago, we were unfortunately back to planning another. On November 20th, Alexander Wolf became the third cyclist killed in the Minneapolis metro area in just two short weeks. Alex was riding his bike on an official city bike lane detour when he was ran over by a semi towing an additional trailer. The Twin Cities cycling community showed their solidarity with the cyclists who lost their lives, by creating a human protected bike lane on November 22nd.Â
Thank you to everyone who showed your support. Thank you to the media for raising awareness and for drawing attention to the fact cyclists are still out and that we bike year round. A downloadable photo library from this event is available courtesy of Gysland Photography.
