Please join us 6/29 to form a human protected bike lane at the site of the crash involving 13 year old, Issac Martinez, who was hit & killed while biking on Chicago's South Lawndale Ave yesterday. We will be honoring his life and drawing attention to the need for safe biking infrastructure.

UPDATE: Please return tonight 6/30 @ 6pm. The family requested the cycling community make it out tonight as well. They want justice for their son and are trying to get the media there.

A 13 year old boy, named Issac Martinez, was hit and killed while biking in Chicago's South Lawndale Ave yesterday shortly before 7pm.  Isacc was hit from hehind by a driver who fled the scene. 

Please join us TONIGHT to form a human protected bike lane at the site of the crash to honor his life and draw attention to this issue.  The media will likely be in attendance.  Please be respectful and safe during this event.  Please help spread the word on social media platforms.

The closer you can arrive to 6:30 pm, the better.  We we will personally arrive around 6:30 pm and will be out there for two hours. If you can't make it there by 6:30 pm, please come when you can so we can have coverage for about 2 hours.

PLEASE RSVP so we have an estimation of how many people will be joining

What to BRING: 

Bring lots of lights. We need to be seen. Make signs if you can. Wear masks and social distance.

How to get there by BIKE:

a group of cyclists will be riding there together from the Halsted blue line station at Halsted and Van Buren. They will roll out sharply at 5:15pm and will be biking south down Halsted.  Feel free to join in along the route if you live south on Halstead

How to get there by TRAIN: 

There is a metra station directly next to to the site.  The stop is called Ashburn via SWS line
